The BenQ ScreenBar Halo improves on the original by adding a rear wireless knob and a backlight. The clip-on design works on monitor bezels up to 2 cm thick without adhesive.

Front illumination

The asymmetric lens throws light downward only. On a matte 27-inch monitor, I saw zero glare at any brightness. On a glossy monitor, minimal bloom.

Wireless controller

The aluminum dial controls brightness, color temperature, and backlight separately. The screen-proximity sensor turns the light off automatically when you leave.

Battery

Backlight is rechargeable and lasts about three weeks on a two-hour charge cycle. Front lighting is always powered from USB.
